The view of life from a 10-year old's perspective; my description of what happens around me
Wednesday, July 27, 2011
About a week ago my family and I visited Animal Kingdom in Florida. As we were pushing our way through the crowd, my Dad decided to speed ahead to catch us a place in line to see The Lion King. We lost sight of him and then across the way we saw him standing. As we tried to push our way there, I felt something hard scratch my leg. I turned and saw a lady sitting in a motorized wheelchair. As she said sorry, my Mom, my sister and me quickly walked ahead while my Dad started yelling at the lady and her husband. What made my Dad even more upset was that one, she had run into him twice and two, the husband was putting his hands in my Dad's face. My Mom thought we were going to get kicked out of the park. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

Retirement Community Pool
Have you ever been to the pool at a retirement community? I spent a few days at my great uncle's retirement community. The pool there is beautiful. But, something strange goes on there. In the shallow area, all the ladies form a circle as they dangle like wet noodles from their noodles. They stay in that formation gossiping for hours. I swam by them one time and they said, "Can you please swim more gently and not splash us?" You can't swim gently, unless you want to drown. While everyone is swimming, the management plays music. I suspect that under the water, the ladies' feet are moving to the music. I call the hot tub the crock pot because even on hot days the inhabitants go and sit in it. I can imagine them just cooking. If you want to share your own experience, you can type a comment.

Pneumonia on the Beach
I went to the beach for a vacation. But, I didn't spend my time laying on the sand. I instead spent time getting to know the emergency room at Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport, NC. The people working there were actually very kind and interesting so I wasn't 100 percent bored. I bet I'm the only person you know who gets pneumonia on vacation.
